Anyhoo, Ami from Ami.Mental tagged me for a meme. (Go read hers, it's fun.) Just answer these few short questions and voila you'll know all my secrets. Oh wait, I already told you those. Oh well. Just found out RegularMom also tagged me with this. Her meme is great as well.
How long have you been blogging?
That's tricky because I started "Not A Stepford Wife" (you can see April and March in my archives here - but the rest perished in a blog fire), on April 6, 2007 and did the mysterious disappearing act in late September- which btw, I made vogue long before Willowtree did, and reappeared here at Robinella's or Robin's Nest on October 4, 2007. So I guess I'll say 4/6/07.
Are you trying to make money online or are you doing it just for fun?
Is that a trick question? Would you pay to read my drivel? Wait, don't answer that. Umm, no.
What inspired you to blog and who are your mentors?
Hmmm. I could get all deep and talk about journaling and putting my feelings "on paper" and other such stuff and I think I did originally do that here. But the reality of it is that I jumped on the bandwagon like a lot of folks and it has been a bumpy ride ever since.
Mentors? I was on this home school forum and sometimes people would put this link after their signatures and one day I started clicking. (that's how I found out about blogs) The first one I tried belonged to such a sweet woman and at first it wasn't her blog I read but her home school site. It was very informative and I emailed her to let her know I appreciated what she had put together and was directed to read her blog which complimented the school site and there you are...my mentor, sort of. She doesn't know it and would probably consider it creepy that I just now came out with it, so don't tell her. But do visit her blog and her school.
What three things do you love about being online?
Probably how easy it is to buy things. (1)Morning, (2)Afternoon and (3)Evening.
OH you meant like online,,, rubbing keyboards with other onliners. Okay, well I love being able to see things that aren't here in little old Virginia. I was able to see Egypt! I really want to see it in person but this was the next best thing and even better than books, no matter how professional their pictures might be. I've seen Alaska, Canada (the wild western side ;-0), Australia, Philippines, India, lots of Europe even more of the states like Colorado, Kansas and Missouri and on and on. And it's in real time, again not just pretty pictures in a book or magazine.
I've also enjoyed the camaraderie. I didn't think I would ever talk to perfect strangers and my family thinks I'm weird when I say, "oh soandso says this" and when they say, "who is soandso?", I have to say, "hell if I know, we've never met, but I trust her medical advice over my own college degreed doctor!" Sooo, they think I need medication.
And 3rd, (fingers lightly tapping asdf jkl; - do you roll your fingers on these keys when you think?) I love the occasional email. I'm not able to do the chat thing. I tried and it was fun for about 3 minutes and then the constant dinging in on me while I was concentrating on getting my credit card number typed in perfectly kinda wore off.
So that's it and this was kinda fun so I think I will tag some peeps. Crap! I can't remember who all I've seen with this on their blogs already but what the heck! Jenni, Dawn, Kaytabug, Beckie, Heather, Sandy and Linda. Oh and if you need fodder for 365, count yourself tagged. Just lemme know so I don't miss it.
Thanks, Ami.
