Liquid Gold

I found TheOrganicSister not long ago and wow! what a gem of a blog.

We've been buying milk shares from a local farm for about a year or more now and since we like skim milk, we've been skimming the cream (liquid gold) from the top. BN was making the yummiest ice cream from it but that has slowed down. And we end up pouring the cream down the drain.

Actually, I let it sit in our fridge hoping we'll use it but we don't so it slowly solidifies and gets really stinky. So I have to hold my nose and run hot water over the clump until it melts down the drain.

But I knew I could use it for more. Like butter or cheese or yogurt or something besides clumps of stink. And now I know how to make butter. I'll be trying it this Wednesday when we pick up our next share. Real. Delicious. Organic. Butter that spreads. Oh my!
